Heaven gained another angel on Sunday July 14, 2019. Betty Louise Gilbert was 78 years old. Betty was born June 4, 1941 in Seymour, Texas.

Services will be held on July 18, 2019 at 2 pm.(Thursday) at Memorial Funeral Home in Seymour, Texas. Burial will follow at Henson Cemetery in Red Springs, Texas.

She was the daughter of Alvin B. and Lola Belle (Brooks) Rodgers. She was their 3rd born. She was a waitress at several restaurants in Seymour, Texas as well as a private care sitter. She married Elmer Shannon on November 13, 1965 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They loved to play dominoes at home with family and friends. They were married for 19 years before his passing in 1985. Five years she got remarried to Lloyd Gilbert on October 27, 1990 in Seymour, Texas. Betty and Lloyd love to go dancing every weekend. They were married for 11 years before his passing in 2001. She was a loving person and family oriented person.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, sister Edna, two brothers Johnny and Jimmy.

She is survived by her daughter Cindy Pope of Seymour, Texas; 2 granddaughters Sabrina and Kacy both of Seymour, Texas; three great - grandchildren and one on the way; two sisters Linda and Milford Sims of Woodward, Oklahoma; Carrol and Allen Crites of Carthage, Texas; 7 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.
