Betty Francis Massingill Sprague was born in Throckmorton, Texas on August 28, 1934 to Isaac Franklin Massingill and Opal Inez Chandler Massingill. Betty passed away at Community Care Center, Sunday, July 16, 2023. She married William (Bill) David Sprague in Wichita Falls, Texas on May 1, 1954.

Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2023 at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home from 7 to 8 P.M. Funeral will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M., with Jon Adams officiating.


Betty is survived by one son, Raymond William Sprague and his wife Marvanna Sprague of Seymour, daughters, Linda and husband Phillip of Oregon Joyce of Oregon, Helen of California, one brother, Garland Massingill and wife Sharon of Emory, Texas. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jason, Staci, Irene, Patricia, Donna, Jeannene, Yolanda, and Manuel. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.


Betty is preceded in death by her husband Bill, a son, Super Dave, two sisters, Ellen Arnold and Willie Ruth Scurlock and two brothers, Jack Massingill and Jimmy Massingill.


Honorary Pallbearers are: Robert Lynn Massingill, Tyson Arnold, Jason Massingill, Hunter Bussell, Jerry Arnold, Terry Arnold, Ricky Arnold and Mason Massingill.


Betty was a school bus driver in California for 15 years and was a volunteer for Seymour Organizations Helping Others and a volunteer at Seymour Hospital Auxiliary.
