Obituary

Carl L. Lohman, 89, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Seymour, with Reggie Coe, Family Pastor and Elder of Grace Church in Wichita Falls, and Rev. Ryan Ford, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Seymour, officiating. Services are under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

Carl was born June 9, 1925 in Round Timber, Texas to Asa Adam and Anne Ballerstedt Lohman. He married Lucille Brian on April 24, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Maskat Shrine. He and Lucille lived in Wichita Falls for 44 years, where he was the Division Manager for Smith International. After retirement, they moved to the ranch in Baylor County in August of 1991, where they began their farming and ranching career. He loved the cattle business, and from 1989 to 2011, he, Lucille and their son, Carl Lee raised Black Angus cattle. He also considered himself a hog farmer.

He and Lucille led a full life. They loved to dance and were frequent visitors to the Wichita Club. They enjoyed the Ranch Roundup every year, and were involved in the North Texas Rehab Auction. Carl's love of people fund him coming to Seymour almost daily where he would visit around town, always having a story to share. He and Lucille also loved the grandkids, and enjoyed all their activities. Carl was involved in the community as well, serving on the board of the Miller-Brazos Soil Conservation Service, and as a member of the Southwest Cattle Raisers Association. Carl was also named Conservationist of the Year in 2012 at the Baylor County Ag Appreciation Day. While in Wichita Falls, he and Lucille attended Grace Church, and since coming to Seymour, they had attended the First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Seymour; two sons, Carl Lee Lohman and wife, Cathleen of Seymour, and John Lohman and wife, Dona of Missouri City, Texas; one daughter, Carolyn White of Oak Point, Texas; grandchildren,
