Charles Dan "Danny" Yates, 64, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in Seymour, after a three year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas at 11 A.M. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Interment will follow at the Goree Memorial Cemetery, Goree, Texas.

Visitation with family and friends will be held Friday, August 7, 2015, at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home.

Danny was born on November 13, 1950 at the Seymour Hospital. He graduated from Goree High School, and attended Cisco Junior College and Midwestern State University. He married Doris Royston on July 23, 1971.

Danny was a self-employed salesman. He loved playing golf, card games and crossword puzzles. He also was an avid reader. The love of his life was his wife, sons and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Doris of Seymour, Texas; 2 sons, Jarrod Yates and wife, Hong of Midlothian, Texas, and Charlie Yates of Burkburnett, Texas; two grandchildren, Tristen and Haley Yates of Midlothian, Texas; his sisters,
Pam Yates Chesher and husband, Mike, and Jan Yates Cure and husband, Larry;
his brother, Macky Yates and wife, Janet; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles (Cowboy) Yates and Pearl Betts Yates; and a granddaughter, Sanoi Kaitlyn Yates.
