Denton Cook Jr., age 78, passed away June 30, 2025.  Denton was born September 29, 1946 in Seymour to Denton Sr. and Mildred Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents Denton and Mildred; his brother, Donald Cook; and sister Ada Beth Bruce.

Denton Jr. worked as a mechanic for Skiper Underwood, and then he worked at Bumpass garage as well.  He then worked for the City of Seymour for 20 years as a mechanic.  He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and would always call them "little monsters." He loved his wrestling shows. Denton was also an amateur radio operator.  He talked to people all over the world. He even had a radio shack.

He loved talking about guns with his son Jamie and grandsons. Denton also had a grandchild that took his middle name, Vernon, and that excited him!

Denton is survived by his sister, Pat Gooding; his son Jamie and wife Julie Cook of Wichita Falls, Texas; his very loving and caring daughter Tamie and husband Robert Estrada of Seymour, Texas; daughter Christy and husband Cade Stone of Glenrose, Texas; grandchildren, Jessica Fowler, Catlin Dunn, Justin Cook, Donald Penner, Cecilia Jennings, Hayden Stone, Kyle Stone, Ryan Stone, Julian Cook, Michael Ventura, and 20 great grandchildren.

There will be a viewing at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the Chapel.  The graveside service will be Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
