Edith Anderson, age 102, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 in Holliday, Texas. Funeral services will be at 1 P.M. Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Ainsworth officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 P.M. Thursday at Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Edith was born January 26, 1911, the 5th of 14 children, born to Bezzie and Effie Blair, in Palo Pinto County, Texas. She married John Crist Anderson on February 27, 1948 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1987.
She was a homemaker and loved working in her yard, doing so well into her 90"s. She loved her Lord and was a faithful and long time member of the First Baptist Church. She served her Lord in many ways, including teaching devotionals at the nursing home for over 10 years.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Karen Russell of Liberty, Missouri; a niece, Billie McDonald and husband, Ed of Holliday, Texas; four grandchildren, Chris, Denise, Jeff, and Michael; 7 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Denzil Warren Russell, and by 13 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held at 6 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
