James F. Jones, 89, of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away Wednesday July 2, 2014 in Mineral Wells. No services were held. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Jones was born June 19, 1925 in Baylor County, Texas, to E.D. and Elsie McMurray Jones. He married Bettye Lou Graves on December 24, 1947 in Baylor County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. He and his wife owned and operated Jones Cafe in Mineral Wells for 36 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells, and VFW Post #2399.

He is survived by his wife, Bettye Jones of Mineral Wells, Texas; a son, James E. Jones, Sr. of Mineral Wells, Texas; a daughter, Shirley and husband, William Chance III of Mineral Wells, Texas; four grandchildren, Stephen Goodwin, James E. Jones, Jr., Heath A. Goodwin, and Billy Chance; 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
