James A. Reding, age 68, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. David Warren, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Seymour, officiating. Interment will be in the Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas.

James was born June 14, 1949 in Haskell, Texas, to John Howard and Ruby Pauline Gaines Reding. He grew up and attended school in Haskell, where at a young age, he began working at the M System store in Haskell. He married Dora Ann White of Haskell on September 14, 1967, and shortly thereafter, the young couple moved to Seymour. James continued his work at M System, Lawrence Brothers , and finally at United Supermarket in Seymour, working for over 50 years for the same store. James was a dedicated husband and family man who loved spending time with family. He was a devout Christian and served as a deacon in the Baptist Church.

James is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dora Reding of Wichita Falls, Texas; two daughters, Tammy McDorman and husband, Gaylon of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Stacie Owen and husband, Shayne, of Wichita Falls, Texas; five grandchildren, Connor and Hanna McDorman, and Bailee, Lathan and Layne Owen; and one sister, Jane Reding of Austin, Texas.

A visitation will be held at 6 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
