Lora Dell Haskin Wisdom Murdock, age 106, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 in Seymour. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. David Warren, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery in Knox County, under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

Lora was born February 16, 1909 in Bomarton, Texas, to Samuel and Dovie Haskin. She married Earl Wisdom in 1930, and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage before his death in 1982. She then married J.T. Murdock in 1987, and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was a beauty operator and she and her sister, Flora Coffey, owned and operated a beauty shop for 36 years in Seymour. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, where she was the Sunday School Teacher in the Primary Department for 43 years.

She is survived by her great-nieces, Sandra Ervin, Sharon McDaniel, Sibel Hufstedler, Sharlot Messic and Barbara Tucker; her lifelong friend, Grace Schumacher; and her loving caretaker, Candy Estes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and two sisters, Bertha Thurman and Flora Coffey.
