Lucille
Lohman
Jan 17, 1930 — Sep 24, 2018
(Nellie) Lucille Lohman, age 88, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at her home near Mabelle, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Seymour, with Rev. Ryan Ford officiating. Services are under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home with visitation Friday between 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Lucille was born January 17, 1930 in Jordan, New Mexico to William James and Maud Allen Brian. When she was seventeen she met the love of her life, Carl Lohman; they were married very shortly after on April 24, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They lived in Wichita Falls for forty-four years, where they raised three children. When the children were older, Lucille worked as Carl"s office manager for Smith Tool International. Lucille also enjoyed modeling for Lou"s Dress Shop in Wichita Falls. After retirement, they moved to The Ranch in Baylor County where they began farming and ranching. With their son, Carl Lee, they began Lohman & Son raising Black Angus cattle. Lucille loved driving around the ranch checking cattle, especially the young ones.
Lucille and Carl also really enjoyed dancing, and for years they participated in a square-dancing group. Later they joined the Wichita Club in downtown Wichita Falls where they looked forward to dinner and dancing every Friday night without fail. Lucille served on the Board of Governors for the Club from 1999 through 2003. She was a member of the Wichita Falls Cattlewomen Association for many years; she particularly enjoyed visiting the various schools to educate the children about the benefits of beef. Lucille was an avid seamstress; she didn"t just sew, she was a perfectionist, and she had great style. She loved playing games of all types and was very competitive at it; no one in the family could beat her at ping pong. She also loved cooking, fishing, and having the ever-increasing family around for visits.
Lucille and Carl were fortunate to have sixty-seven years together until his passing in August of 2014. During that time, they also enjoyed the North Texas Rehab Auction as well as the Wichita Falls Ranch Roundup. They enjoyed traveling, but not long trips; they both enjoyed being home at The Ranch.
Lucille was a fun and loving woman; she will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
She is survived by two sons, Carl Lee Lohman and wife, Cathleen, of Seymour, Texas, and John Lohman and wife, Dona, of Missouri City, Texas; a daughter, Carolyn White, of Oak Point, Texas; grandchildren, Leslie (Matt) Hodgkins, Carley (Jason) Stevenson, Audra (Cody) Wright, Kristin White, Lee Lohman, Clay (Autumn) White, Brian (Diane) Lohman, Lauren (R.J.) Ellis, Konnor Lohman and Cameron Lohman; great-grandchildren, Steven (Destiny), Jayson, Brandon, Lyndon, Harris, Carl, Aubrey, Cody, Karis, Parker, Ryker, Sutton, Crue, Jace, Owen, Rebekah and Kirsten; great-great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Kensleigh, and Langston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, W.J. Brian and Snooks Brian.
