Thelma Bailey, age 96, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in Seymour. Funeral services will be held
at 2 P.M. Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the Seymour Church of Christ, with John Adams, Church of Christ minister officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

Thelma was born June 9, 1922, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Major Goree and Thelma Leona Parker Blankenship. She married Bruce Bailey in May 1941 in Westover, Texas. He preceded her in death on
August 30, 2001. She worked for GTE as chief operator, retiring after 43 years. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, the VFW Ladies Auxilliary, and the Seymour Hospital Pink Ladies.

She is survived by one brother, Thelbert Blankenship and wife, Peggy of Wichita Falls, Texas, by one sister, Faye Stewart of Olney, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Bruce; by one son, Robert Bruce Bailey in 1951;
her brothers, Van Earl Blankenship, William Muriel Blankenship, and M.G. "Junior" Blankenship, and by one sister, Linda Gayle Blankenship.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.
