Virginia Elaine "Ginger" Johnson passed away on July 8, 2023 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was born in Knox City on October 22, 1945 to Ray and Willie May Martin. She married Tom Johnson in 1964. She is survived by a son, Kevin and his wife Joyce of Seymour, 6 grandchildren, Tesia Johnson, Eva Johnson, Rebecca Johnson, Tasha Johnson, Sandra Johnson and Tony Johnson, 8 great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends, Wanda Engel, Melva Butler, and Samantha Hamilton.
Virginia and Tom moved to Seymour in March of 1983, where she and Tom had a bookstore. She was an author, editor and publisher for many years.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Tom, her parents Ray & Willie Mae, a son, Thomas E. Johnson, Jr., her brothers, C. H., Ray, Jr., Jimmie, Jackie and her sisters, Mary Fathaeur and Betty Fathaeur.
Memorial Service for Virginia will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Goree Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
