Wesley B. Grimes, Sr., age 83, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Seymour. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Russell Roberts, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Grimes was born September 18, 1934 in Graham, Texas. He married Velma Jane Lancaster on May 14, 1956 in Graham, Texas. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2013. He was a farmer and cowboy, and attended the Church of God.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Marsh of Springtown, Texas, and Velma Watson and husband, Dennis of Seymour, Texas; three sons, Wesley Grimes, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Springtown, Texas, Jerry Grimes and James Grimes, both of Seymour; by 7 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nina Bones and husband, Richard of Graham, Texas, and a brother, G.W. Grimes of Hobbs, N.M.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma; his parents, Wesley Samuel Grimes and Bernice Barrett Grimes; by a brother, Jerry Grimes, and one great-grandson, Nathan Marsh.
