Lavoye Ball, 87, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 in Seymour. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Seymour, with Dr. David Warren, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

Lavoye was born November 6, 1930 in Foxworth, Mississippi, and served in the United States Air Force as a firefighter and crash rescueman. After discharging from the Air Force, he came to Texas with a survey crew, and met and married Johnnie Sue Tidwell of Seymour, Texas on October 15, 1951. He worked for the TABC for 25 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the KYB Sunday School Class,
Seymour Masonic Lodge #604 AF&AM, and was a member of the Seymour VFD, serving as fire chief for 10 years.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Dewanna Stone and husband, Gary of Abilene, Texas, and Trina Hostas and husband, Eric of Seymour, Texas; his grandchildren, Leah Stone, John Eric (Alicia) Hostas, Paul Stone, Travis (Lindsay) Stone, Craig (Brianna) Hostas, Marcia Hostas, and Jenni (Klifton) Moline; and by his great-grandchildren, Emma Stone, Briley Hostas, Bryson Hostas, Haylee Stone, Lauren Hostas, Madison Hostas, Hagen Hostas, Brogan Hostas, Lily Stone, Jackson Moline and Blake Moline.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Johnnie Sue on March 19, 2012; a daughter, Lagena Hostas on January 16, 2003; 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Memorials may be made to the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department, 305 N. Washington, Seymour, Texas 76380; or the First Baptist Church, 420 N. Washington, Seymour, Texas 76380.
