Raymond Henry Psencik
SEYMOUR - Raymond Henry Psencik, 92, passed away on December 24, 2021 in Seymour, TX.
Ray was born on January 14, 1929 in Smithville, TX to Robert and Angelina Psencik. He left home to serve in the US Army, and was stationed in post-WWII Germany. Upon his return he married Margie Michalik of Seymour, TX on December 31, 1950.
Ray and Margie moved to Fort Worth where Ray worked for Lone Star Gas. In 1965 the opportunity presented itself to open a Montgomery Wards catalog store in Seymour. They moved to Seymour with their son Randal in tow.
While running the Wards store in Seymour, Ray took to Margie’s family business–farming. For the next six decades, Ray and Randal farmed together.
While the crops were in the field, Ray and Margie loved to travel. Whether it was a trip to the Kentucky Derby, a cruise to the Bahamas, or a tour of Czechoslovakia, they enjoyed seeing the world. And when they weren’t traveling, Ray liked going to the casino, if only to get a little taste of Las Vegas a little closer to home.
Ray is survived by Margie, his wife of 70 years; two grandsons, Ryan and Evan Psencik of Seymour; and one great-grandson, Rayden Psencik, of Wichita Falls. Ray is preceded in death by his son, Randal Psencik, of Seymour.
Rosary services will be held at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 29 at 5:00pm, with visitation immediately after. Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour, TX on Thursday, December 30 at 2:00pm.
