William Cleve Hogue, 95, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10 A.M. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with
Dr. David Warren, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery with military honors conducted by the United States Marine Corps. Services are under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Hogue was born September 16, 1917 in the Cache Creek Community of Baylor County, to Rufus and Ida Walsh Hogue, and graduated from Seymour High School in 1934. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on September 28, 1940, attaining the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He served in both the European Theater of Operations and the Pacific Theater of Operations, participating in battles at Guadalcanal, South Solomons, the Tarawa Atoll, Saipan and Tinian. He was discharged December 4, 1946. Returning to Seymour, he owned and operated Hogue's Grocery and Market from 1955-1976, and later worked at M System from 1976 until 2000. He joined the First Baptist Church in 1932, where he was ordained as a deacon on September 24, 1967. He also served for many years as the General Secretary of the Sunday School Dept. beginning in 1964.

He is survived by two nieces, Neva Hogue Freeman of West Columbia, S.C. and Donna Hogue Craig of Amarillo, Texas; great-nieces and nephews, Robert and John Hogue, Miriam Oravec, Lydia Hutto, Renee' Adee and Ladonna Buschmann; other relatives and many friends.
