Tass Allen Meads

I am a Veteran.Tass Allen Meads
May 5, 1958 - April 22, 2020

Tass Allen Meads passed away April 22, 2020 in his home. He was born May 5, 1958, in Austin, Texas to Philip Hill Meads and Barbara Stuart Meads. He attended school in Mineola and Vernon, Texas. After working many years as a roughneck in the oil industry, he joined the Navy. He was stationed in San Diego, California, as an avionics technician for the Sea King helicopters assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. Tass also bugled for the Navy’s Honor Corps at many memorial services for
Navy servicemen and women. After his service, Tass started a civilian career in cellular communications. In this capacity, he was with One-Comm during the Oklahoma City bombing rescue and recovery, assisting the Red Cross and other volunteers.

Tass retired from Verizon in 2018. He remained an active HAM radio operator and volunteered time and knowledge to the local disaster planning for Baylor County RF radio communications. For many years he was active with the Texoma weather watchers. He truly enjoyed helping people out of muddy ditches and those who slid off the roadway during bad storms or icy weather.

Tass is survived by his mother, Barbara Meads; his wife, Brenda; daughter Ticia Guyette; stepson, Grant Elliott; stepdaughter, Gretchen Coyle; grandson, Matthew Busbee and granddaughter, Heather Busbee; one sister, Connie Markum;
one brother, Lindsay Meads and numerous friends and extended family.

Tass was willing to help anyone, anytime for any reason. He lived life his own way and will be missed.
