Mary Ellen Petrek (Nini) passed away on December 14, 2022 in Frisco, Texas at the age of 91.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the SPJST Cemetery in Seymour under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

Mary was born on August 28, 1931 in Hale Center, Texas to Edith Cox Poe and Lance Lot Poe. She married the love of her life, Henry Frank Petrek, on July 21, 1949. They were married for 59 years until his death in 2008. They lived their entire married life in Baylor County. A few years after Henry's death, she moved to Frisco to be closer to her daughters. She was a member of the Seymour Church of Christ, SPJST and Seymour Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.

Mary never met a stranger and always welcomed friends and family with open arms into her home. She loved her family and was especially proud of her 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Lance, sisters, JoAnn Pruitt and Emma Jean Chavers and best friend and sister-n-law Adolfie Simaichl, and her husband Henry. She is survived by daughters Dianne Anderson and husband Mike, Susie Chaisson and husband Roland and son Mike Petrek and wife Martha. Grandchildren, Kristen Anderson and husband Chad Beasley, Brad Petrek and wife Ashley, Kim Anderson, Katherine Anderson, Kyle Chaisson and Kori Parrott and husband Justin. Great-grandchildren, Brailee Petrek, Hendrix Chaisson and William Parrott.
